No icons on desktop after fixing malware pbm I fixed a laptop running Windows XP that had been attacked with malware, with Kaspersky antivirus. But now I have no icons on the desktop. I checked with regedit as suggested by one of the contributors in the forum. The value exists and explorer is in its usual place (Windows directory). When the system starts, a message is displayed "Can't find the script file D:\WINDOWS\system32\winmgmt.vbe" . The message is entiltled "Windows Script Host".
Right click does not respond.
Is Windows on the D: partition?

Yes it seems the system is installed on D:
Actually the laptop came to me in last resort. It belongs to a friend and he had tried to get it fixed by someone else. The lap top has been reinstalled.
There is something I don't find regular: the D: disk label is like this : """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""" (D:) the label is made of 31 ".
Scan your computer with Malwarebytes to remove malware and scan your PC for viruses as well.
