Network Adapters missing in device manager after formatting

Specs: Windows XP Professional 32 bit
Hi, I am using a FUJITSU SIEMENS ESPRIMO E5625 model desktop PC. For some reason I had to reformat my PC.

Now after reinstalling my copy of Windows XP Professional 32 bit OS, I am not able to see the Ethernet controller and unable to connect to internet using LAN cable.

I tried my USB data card to access internet and it worked fine.

Can some one help me on how can I get internet connected using ETHERNET CABLE?

I tried installing Broadcom 5787 LINK drivers as mentioned on datsheet from FUJITSU SIEMENS site but, the network adapters are still not seen.

Thanks for all inputs and any insights,
Regards,

Have a look in Device Manager. If you have any error symbols in there (eg yellow question-mark or red exclamation-mark) it means you haven't installed the correct drivers for your desktop model.

If you can't see any error symbols in Device Manager, and no network device is listed, that usually means that particular component is broken, in which case you will have to use wireless.

"For some reason I had to reformat my PC"

For some reason? My guess is you chose to reformat rather than fixing whatever the problem was & now you're running into other problems that you weren't expecting, such as the requirement to install drivers. XP only contains a limited number of generic drivers, not to mention they're old/outdated. Johnw's links should hook you up.
