need XP Recovery disk for Compaq desktop

Specs: Windows XP, 3GB
Hello

I followed the F11 - System Recovery on screen proceedure. I encountered a zero division error, which the system rebooted.

Now, the system is asking for a system disk, which was not provided.

The owner of this system has contacted the retailer, which they do not have a recovery disk.

If I have a recovery disk from another system (like Toshiba laptop with XP), can that be used?

If not, where can I get a download to burn a recovery disk for this Compaq Presario Model: Cq5110Y system?

Thank you.

Maybe but probably not. Some recovery Systems Disks are made with drivers for that laptop and may not work on other laptops. It would not hurt to try. Just remember to download drivers for your laptop and install them so that you have the right drivers.

This may help you...

You did backup your hard drive right?; because running this will wipe out the information on the drive unless you just do a repair install...
