Have you ever tried the run the SFC (system file checker) it checks that all of windows protected files are intact and in their originial version ! To run SFC you must have a installation CD for your O/S I have Windows XP MCE 2005 with Update Rollup 2 ! I put the CD in My DVD drive and keep tapping on the shift key to prevent it from auto play . Once the activity light on the drive stops trying to access the CD I go to Start, RUN and type sfc /scannow (note the space between the c and the / let the app run. A small box wiull appear to show you its progress ,once it awhile it may stop with a prompt to quite or retry hit the retry untill it starts running again ! If you are having trouble with SFC go to this web site and you can find more out about SFC> http://ask-leo.com/what_is_the_syst... <<<< Leo has you running it thru a DOS Window, I have found you can run it directly thru Windows either way it runs . If you want to follow his instructions when you go to START, RUN then type cmd the DOS window will open the rest is te same . Or skip the cmd and just do run and type the sfc /scannow ! Good Luck Nick
