If I remember correctly, you can make yourself an administrator by opening a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type “control userpasswords2” (type the space but not the quotes) and press Enter. Click your name > Properties > Group Membership Tab > Other and make yourself an administrator.

Admin account is hidden but why is it that YOUR account doesn't have admin rights? Is it not your computer? Why couldn't you have just done a search?

you bought this used off someone on FB and did not wipe the drive and reinstall an operating system? In my opinion ANY used computer should be formatted.

Who created the account you're using to login?

Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)

Warning: I know nothing about creating user accounts.

> it says guest and when i try to change it says i need admin approval

I presume that means you log on as "Guest". Are there other options?
If you can, do not log on as "Guest". Can you get in without logging on?
That's how I have used all of my computers. Once you are in, you
should be able to give yourself administrator rights, or create an
account with administrator rights.
