My pendrive shows file in corrupt manner

Specs: Windows XP
Hiiii,

I have a Kingston pen drive of 8 GB Data Traveler USB, when i copy files into it... it shows them correctly.... but after reconnecting it again to PC, all files automatically goes corrupt and all folder shows the size of 1.33 GB each with the same file (like a box).

What i can do to solve that error...
any expert can give his/her idea........

Did you use Safely Remove Hardware before removing the pen drive?

Safely remove flushes the buffers, closes the files, and rewrites the file allocation tables and directories. The bigger the drive the more that has to be written. Lost files might be recovered with software. You should always use Safely Remove with any removeable data storage device,

Thanks for your advice...
But some time it says that device cannot be removed ( some type of generic data error)
What should i do then??

I shut the system down. The OS is suppose to do the cleanup as it shuts down.
