my pc wont boot xp installation disc

Specs: Windows XP
i have tried to reinstall xp on my old pc it formatted my HDD then stop working now i have a new xp disc but it wont boot from disc i have changed the boot sequance but it keeps botting the HDD not the disc drive. the disc new, disc boots in vmware workstation and installs fine but wont boot on my pc i have tried both my drives and they both work fine cause there brand new. any suggestions?

Make sure the CD drive is listed before the HDD in the boot order. You should be getting a prompt to "press any key to boot from CD", if you miss it, the system will bypass the CD & move on to the HDD. And if you have an SATA HDD, you'll need to press F6 & load the SATA drivers early in the installation process.

its cool iv sorted it now the cd drive was listed first anyway but i took the HDD drive of the boot list and it work its now installing thanks for your help
