Are you saying that even with battery removed the laptop won’t work when using the mains adapter unit to power the laptop: but it did for a while (until now)?

How do you know the battery is faulty, no good?

Can you borrow a known to be good mains adapter and test your laptop that way?

It may be that the mains adapter (which of course also charges the battery when it’s installed) is faulty. They frequently fail; a lot more pften than many realise.
