You didn't say why you switched drives, or where the problem drive came from, so we have incomplete information. If Windows is actually running and just needs drivers, you can download them from Dell support:

Link above is for UK. If you need a different country, click "United Kingdom" at top left of page.

If the drive was from a different PC or laptop, you will need to re-install Windows first, then get drivers from Dell via the above link. Windows installed on one computer does not like being swapped to a different computer which has different hardware. You have to install a fresh copy of Windows after swapping the drive.

well, someone installed windows xp home edition. i had windows 7 professional. it was completely filled w/ viruses so instead of spending crazy $ on another security disk so i got another hard-drive. i have no internet connection and wifi light doesn't come on or be acknowledged. also, says can't download drivers due to network connection

What Phil22 says is correct. You need drivers. Go to the dell link he privided you and enter your service tag number to get the drivers. The bigger problem here is you have XP installed when you originally had Windows 7. There may not be any XP drivers and you will have to reinstall Windows 7. Your original hard drive may contain a recovery partition from which you can reinstall Windows 7 Pro.
