My computer will not boot and no disc

Specs: Windows xp
I turn my computer on and it does a memory check. Than it it tries to boot itself through the network and a disc. But I do not have the disc and the computer is a custom that my cousin gave me. Please help.

Do you have original xp disks?

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

No I do not. And my computer will not go into safe mode. I press f8 but nothing.

this often means the hard drive is dead.

You could borrow any XP install cd usually to attempt a repair. I'd try it first. See microsoft site for repair xp.

yes, but the secondary disk is not
