My computer not responding

April 6, 2009 at 13:53:34
Specs: Windows XP, 2.4Ghz/1GB
When I open up my computer and click on a network drive it opens up fine but when I click on any folder it freezes up my computer and causes it to not respond.

I have went through all the services that I do not need running, uninstalled software not needed and still same problem. Nothing shows up in event viewer either.

Not sure what is causing the problem. Any ideas

files get corrupted for no reason from time to time.

Try to run system file checker to make sure everything is in order
You may need to have the original xp installation disc to perform the service.

start > run and type sfc /scannow in the box
notice the space between the c and / then hit enter.

Change Is Good
