You need to test your hard drive, it sounds like it is failing.

Go into the Command prompt and type:

C:

hit enter,

type:

Dir

hit enter,

If you see folder names like "windows" and "users" then your on the right partition, if not try D: after you find your windows partition type

chkdsk C: /r
or
chkdsk D: /r

after that finishes

Type:

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

or

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows

when that's done

Type:

exit

If the hard dive is not found then it needs to be replaced. Go to best buy or where ever you like and purchase a new drive. Take off the cover on the bottom the the laptop and replaced the drive. Put it all back together and re-install your OS.

if your computer was saying that the hard drive was not detected, it was not detected.
You can try to remove your drive and reinserted it just in case it has come un-seated.

Then Boot to your windows disc you have, go to repair options, open the command prompt and redo what I posted in #4

BTW: when you run CHKDSK C: /R

This will take a long time, like a 20min to 30min to complete. If it goes real fast then you checked the wrong partition.

There are some spaces in there and the drive letter as well. You need to type it in exactly as I have stated. chkdsk C: /r

You need to be more descriptive with your responses, I'm having a hard time guessing as to what happened after you type the commands in to the command prompt

So a stop 0xf4 is either a bad hard drive, corrupted windows, or viruses.

If you can get into safe mode command prompt. you should be able to run chkdsk C: /r

Are you sure you are typing it correctly?
