I have an old computer running xp home edition. I have always been able to launch or start an installation disc. Always for over 20 reinstalls of xp. If the system did not start the disc,I could ALWAYS start it from my computer. Now it opens the disc and shows all the files.I really need it to start or launch an installation disc!! I run xp home ed.upgrade and then run "drivers and utilities CD" can anyone help me?
This is not usually done from within windows anyway. Usually the CD is a bootable disk and you would set boot order in bios to CD first followed by Hard drive. Save and exit then boot up with the CD in the drive.
