My ASUS eee netbook begins to boot to Win XP and restarts

January 3, 2014 at 10:31:53
Specs: Windows XP
Win XP ASUS eee 10" net-book begins the boot process and as it starts opening the programs a mssg pops up about a serious problem and send a report to MS. Once sent the pc begins to reboot automatically, momentarily flashing a blue screen with an error listed but it flashes so fast as it's shutting down, I can't read what it says?

Tap F8 key continuously while it is booting up and see if you can select Safe Mode. If so we should be able to assist from there.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Also, from the F8 menu you can disable the automatic restart after error. Here's some info:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...

That way you may be able to gain some information from the error screen.

Thank you, the machine has been running in safe mode with networking for the last few days as I've searched for answers. I did get the blue screen to stay on by changing the "auto restart setting" don't remember exactly how but did nonetheless. I took pictures of the blue screen error to aid in troubleshooting. Unfortunately, I've also been busy trying to figure out why a NEW Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro won't stay connected to our TWC cable internet wifi. I got so used to machines running XP that I'm way behind the learning curve when it comes to Win7 and now our new Yoga runs Win8.

The error message and particularly the first set of figures could be useful. Sometimes a file is mentioned and that can be handy too. Most likely a driver issue.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
