Specs: Windows XP
I switched from IE to firefox because IE refused to get me online, now my MS office won't work, picture manager, & other things are not acting right. Help & support won't open & control panel is very slow. Is this because of the switch or something else & is it a simple fix or do I need to bring in the big guns?? Thanks

I never heard of Firefox causing any of those issues, and I've been helping on problem forums for 8 years.

Do you have 'System Restore' enabled? If so you could try rolling your system back to a date before the problems began.

SR doesn't touch the 'My Documents' folder, but I would make backups of everything in there, just in case, before running it.

I failed to mention also when I try to open my word or excel doc, a box comes up saying windows installer, then error message 25090 office source engine. I did go to the file where that's located to make sure it's enabled, but couldn't find it. I relate this to the browser change because it was fine until that time. I found on another help site that I needed to install my MS office again, but I don't have a disc.
