This helped someone:

"In MPC-HC go to options, playback, and make sure the boxes for auto load audio files and auto load subtitles are checked"

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I don't know the reason why it should be fussy about some programs. Maybe it would be best to post your query on this MPC-HC forum:

Alternatively try VLC Player which I believe can also handle sub-titles and is equally good:

I would start by trying VLC Player as recommended by Derek.

Are the subtitles hard coded to the video file? If not, you will need the correct .SRT file. The file will need to be placed in the same folder as the video file & named exactly the same. In other words, if the video is named MY-FAVORITE-MOVIE.mp4, the subtitle file should be named MY-FAVORITE-MOVIE.srt

Thank you Derek

I've tried VLC Player before and I've notice that it changes all your downloads over even the music files. But I will try again at the MPC-HC forum to see if they can help there.

Thank you riider for your reply, when I download a video it goes straight into my Download files. So I would expect the subtitles to come out as well. As its does show some subtitle downloads but not all?? That what I don't understand!!

You can definitely stop VLC taking over everything - I've a mixed bag of players and file associations:

Very strange - link is working fine for me. Try once more just in case they were off-air. If still no go I'll put it into words for you.
