I'd use ntbackup. It will compress the data and allow you to access it any time you wish.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

My thought is that a problem may happen if you attempt this when Windows is running. HD makers have free software that appear to do what you want before Windows gets loaded. For example, the HD maker Western Digital software called "Data lifeguard tools" can ---- Compatible with Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP. The software includes utilities that can perform the following tasks: drive copy, diagnose a drive for problems, write zeros or low level format a drive, provide drive information, create bootup disk, and provide ATA Ultra management.

you have 98gig of free space with drive1
if you move everything to drive2 you will only have 32gig of free space.

you are not moving in the right direction and will have space issues soon if you proceed.
