Solved Monitor says No signal while Loading FarmVille on Facebook

December 13, 2013 at 17:44:55
Specs: Windows XP
While trying to load Farmville my screen goes black and say no signal. The computer is still on. I have to turn off and restart. I am using this monitor now and it is working just seems Farmville causes it. Today is this 1st day this has happened.

Just generalising but mostly when a monitor says "no signal" the fact that it can even display that is a fair sign it is working. If it is a monitor fault it is likely to be something inside quite close to the input cable. Just the same, assuming this is a PC it is always best to first try the monitor on another computer (or someone else's on yours).

A problem with the external connectors or cable is more likely, or the video/display module (or card) itself.

It's possible your video card is failing.

Could farmville be changing your resolution to something your monitor can't handle? What resolution do you usually run? How much video ram do you have?

I am not sure, I have changed nothing, it was working perfect yesterday. When I got on today it started. Now I reboot and it goes black with a few minutes, does not have to be on Farmviille.

Could be....but now it is going black and saying no signal within minutes of reboot doo not have to be on Farmville. Can not do anything on it now. Do you think it could be the monitor?

Could be, or its signal cable. Try using F8 to boot to safe mode and see if you have the same problem. If yes, it's likely the monitor, cable or video card/adapter. If not, it's probably a video setting or maybe drivers.

Thank you for your responses! It was the video card, it was an old dell desktop, so did not want to put any more money in to it so, opted for a new Dell Laptop! Thanks again for all your help!
