missing ntldr files for booting

Specs: Windows 7
hi guys i am a newbie here looks very helpful here i must say.
ok i have here a dell inspiron 1110 which you will probably know dosent have a disk, or floppy although i have all the disks that come with it , i even bought an external cdrw to try and fix hooked it ip set to boot from removable hardware ,, loading up i think alls going well gets to SETUP IS STARTING WINDOWS then bsod with a code of 0x000000d7
how do i write the files needed to a disk, and in which order do i run the disks, this is my nephews comp i dont know how he has managed to clear the drive .its on windows 7

Your question is a little unclear. Are you trying to install xp on a machine that had windows 7 on it previously - booting from external drive?

Have you changed the sata settings in the bios to IDE or legacy mode?

sorry i am getting mixed up here im trying to do the same to a compaq evo that i have here trying to sort ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, answer to your question is its w7 im trying to install back on the dell inspiro 1110
