Low disk space - need to compress HD

Specs: Windows XP
i need to find a utility for windows xp simular to Windows 98 drivespace 3 to compreess my files because i only have a 10 gig drive that is already ntfs and compressed but it is still running low on space please recomeend a good utility

You can open up the drive properties and enable compression. Honestly though, it's probably better to either upgrade the 10GB drive to something larger, or move some of the files on it to another drive (external drive for example).

If you already compressed the drive then there is nothing else you can do. It is already as small as realistically possible.

You either need to use disk clean up or start removing apps or increase the drive size.

Windows 98 used FAT32 for it's filing which was much less efficient and there were many schemes to compress better. NTFS is already better, and XP's compression is about as good as it is going to get.
Try a disk cleanup, and try reducing the space available for system restore a little. Both might help some, but as above, I would recommend adding another drive (internal is actually cheaper if it's a desktop) and moving all of your personal files, and even uninstalling some programs and reinstalling them to the newer drive (choose custom on install). You should be able to get an internal IDE drive for around $40.00 or so.
