Closing when you go to Minimize is very unusual, are you quite certain it is not in the taskbar somewhere?

As for the rest, sometimes to get full screen it sticks if you pull out the sides rather than use Maximize. The other thing is when a window is in a sub-folder, next time it will always revert to the size of the main folder. In which case you make the main folder bigger and it should work out.

Sounds like you are clicking on the wrong area, because your cursor's "active" point is not where you imagine it to be.

Try going to the Mouse Applet in Control panel, and choose a different "pointer theme"... try the Windows Default (system scheme), instead of any "fancy" theme. Keep it simple.

Interesting thought that and certainly worth checking - maybe the mouse has gone a little wild.

Having said that I find it hard to work out a simple pointer displacement that fits everything the poster is saying.

IMPORTANT - Please come back and let us know the outcome.
