Logon error - Applying Computer Settings

Belkin F5d7234-4 g wireless router
January 1, 2010 at 11:01:12
Specs: Windows XP
When I turn on the router, the windows login face won't go in, it stays in "Applying computer settings" continously, but when I turn off the router, it goes past that phase immediately and into the login face. The router works perfectly when I turn it on again after I login into my account. How can I fix this?

Is this a home computer?

Are you networking?

You could try >

1. Click on start button.
2. Select Control Panel
3. Open “Network Connections”
4. Under “LAN and High-Speed Internet”, right-click on your “Local Area Connection” and select “Repair”

If you are using the comp at home & not networking, you can try these.

How to Configure DHCP in Windows XP
http://support.myfishonline.net/win...
Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, right click on Local Area Connection.
Untick the 1st 3 boxes, starting with > Client for Microsoft Networks.
Right click on Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties > General, make sure both boxes are set to Auto.
On that same page, click > Advanced.
Remove the check mark beside "Enable LMHOSTS lookup" on the WINS tab and "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP."
