|I've been googling my trouble with IE and found lots of people with this same problem. I've been reading and have come to the conclusion that removing the IE8 is not a good idea, even if you CAN do it. But I tried something that someone suggested, and lo and behold, it has definitely improved my IE problem! I have no idea why, because it didn't work the way they said it would, but I DON'T CARE! Here's what I did:|
The person wrote that IE is part of the OS and without it you wouldn't have any desktop or windows explore, but you can turn it off by going to Add/Remove Programs. In the left column you should see Turn off windows features, he said, but .mine didn't say that exactly, but it was close, so I clicked it, scrolled down to IE and unchecked the box, then clicked ok.
I thought that I'd be using my firefox then and that IE wouldn't work, but when I clicked some of my desktop Icons (saved with IE) the first one said that there was an error with IE and it had to close....so fine. Then next time I clicked an Icon, it opened with IE and all the others do too! It's much faster now. I thought that Firefox would open them, but somehow, even though I've checked that the IE is still unchecked in that window somehow it's still working, AND MUCH BETTER TOO!
