Try booting into the BIOS and disable all power saving options. Save and exit.

The mouse will not work in the pre-Windows screens. If you have TWO monitor ports on the tower, try using the other one.

Once the Levono screen (splash screen) appears the computer is attempting to start Windows in the standard mode.

Try tapping F8 continously as soon as you start the computer. Choose to start in safe mode and then go to Control Panel to check power settings.

If that doesn't work then borrow another monitor to test with.

How about providing some background information. When and how did this start happening?

This happened yesterday when my sister selected "power save" checkbox. Then the problem started immediately after rebooting.

Then try F8 for safe mode. Don't wait for that splash screen. Start tapping as soon as you start up.
