legacy audio drivers

Specs: Windows XP
Under sound devices, Volume it states that there is NoAudio Device. When I go to Hardward it says under Legacy Audio Driver - location unknown and under Properties Properties there is nothing. My surround sound doesn't work anymore. This all occured after I did a clean up and defrag
. Any idea where I can get the audio driver back? Any help would be apreciated.

You have to reinstall the sound drivers. I assume you don't have a drivers disc? Post the make/model of your motherboard or if you have an OEM system (Dell, Gateway, HP/Compaq, etc), post the model of the system (for example, Dell Dimension 4600) then someone should be able to hook you up.
