Hi, I am trying to get this new laptop I picked up on my wireless network. When I scan for networks, my name comes up with a full signal strength but when I click connect, after a couple secs a window pops up saying "Windows is unable to connect to the selected netowrk. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again." My other devices connect just fine, and they are further away from the router - This laptop is right next to it! I tried moving to another area to and still get the same error. Also tried a different driver from the HP site and same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, it is, but it doesn't even get to the point to ask me my password. I took the laptop to my sisters house tonite and got right on hers, so I confirmed that the laptop adapter is ok, so it must just be someway that my router is configured. I will have to look at that now. Maybe I will take my security off and try that. Thanks

Other than turning off the wireless encryption on wireless router, you should also check whether there is any filtering feature enabled on router, such as MAC address filtering or firewall blocking.
