I have a laptop which starts beeping as soon as its switched on. It is not a BIOS thing because it loads into Windows OK but continues to beep! I can't find any stuck keys but it is the sound which a stuck key would make. If trying to type, just get a continuous line of "h" . Have removed the "h" key, cleaned and replaced it. Still the same. Have checked for viruses. Any suggestions!? Please help!
Could it be a low battery indicator to warn you to save your work and log off? Are you sure it is a beep and not a clicking noise?
if the OS does not start at all then it is hardware problem u have
to reshuffle ur ram again it will solve ur problem
I have the laptop connected to the mains power so that is not an issue.
Windows XP starts without a problem.
But once I go into anything (program, web page) the typing area begins to fill with the letter "h" adnauseum.
The beep sound accompanies the letter h.
Could that be an overHeating issue then? Are you using the laptop on a hard surface?
I think that if the H key were stuck the laptop wouldn't boot, would be wrong though.
Well, I dont know what has changed, but the problem has gone. In retrospect, the laptop was feeling quite hot underneath (I was using it on my lap), so maybe tht was the cause after all?? Thanks for all your suggestions.
