Kingston 8GB USB pendrive format error

Specs: Windows XP
Dear friend,
I am using KINGSTON -8GB pendrive for 2 years.
Recently i have a problem with the device i.e., "windows was unable to complete the format" error.
Can any one provide me the solution for this.
I right clicked on the drive(H) and selected properties.
It displayed as
Used space: 0
Free space: 0
I am using WINDOWS XP SP2.

Pendrives have limited life which involves only a certain amount of writes/rewrites. Your drive may well be at the end of its useful life. They are not that expensive... suggest you invest in another one.

I'd guess it is bad also. I guess you could test this on some other system but watch out that you don't infect some other system. Usb drives then to have a lot of malware and virus's on them.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

i already verified in my friends system also.
but the problem is the same.
Can i expect any response if i consult the repairing shop.

I have the same problem. However,my drive does work perfectly on our other computer. Did you ever get a solution?
