Keep autorun but disable content type search

Specs: Windows XP, 2GB
Whenever i insert my external hard drive, XP searches for content type, as in "Music files", "Pictures", "Video Files" or "Mixed content". The search takes more than 30 seconds because the hard drive has over 15.000 files, Even if i default all 4 options to "Open folder to view files" in Autoplay, it still searches for files before doing the predefined action.

Is there a way to disable the content type search and keep the autorun feature? I always use the "Open folder to view files" option, i also have an autorun.inf to define a custom icon for the drive, so if the solution involves such a file, i have no problems with it.

I only do what the voices in my head command...

Just click 'Cancel' when the content search starts. You don't have to wait for it to finish.

I know i can do that, yet i would prefer a way to disable content type search but keep autorun.

I've been reading Wikipedia and found a workaround that works, but only because i use a program called USB Safely Remove.

First i disabled autorun just for letter S: by adding a DWORD NoDriveAutorun=Hex 40000 (or 262144 in decimal, aka 2^18 for letter S) to [HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]. Then i configured USB Safely Remove to run Explorer after S: is plugged in.

But as i said, this only works for my case. A more general solution would be welcome.

By the way, i found these 2 pages very informative:
