Specs: Windows XP SP2 Professional., intell piii 733mhz 256mb ram
Hello everyone,

I have downloaded the Uxtheme multi-patcher 6.0 for my xp desktop. I have a 733mhx PIII, 256mb RAM, and unfortunately no graphics card. If I install this patch will it screw up my computer? I plan on using a theme that I found on customize.org I don't want to screw up my computer because I lost my XP install disk and can't afford to buy a new one. Thank you for your answers.

Is this program safe is difficult to answer. To some users it probably is (as long as they know what to do in case something goes wrong). To others it is not safe. If you don't want to screw up your computer and you have lost your XP install disk and can't afford to buy a new one, don't try it.

Your system specs are extremely low, especially the RAM. And your lack of a video "card" means that the onboard video sucks up some of the system RAM. I'm sure XP doesn't run very well. Try a machine with decent specs for comparison & you'll know what I mean. You should be trying to run your system as lean as possible, not ad more garbage programs to it.

Thank you very much :) I guess I probably should invest in a new computer anyway. I just can't do much on it anymore like I use to.

I had a P3 750MHz w/256MB of SDRAM ! The O/S was Windows Me . That PS is still running sitting next to my new PC on its own desk, The old PC came with intel intergrated graphic . I installed an ATI Radeon PCI Graphics card to take the place of the intergrated graphics and it make a noticable inprovement in the performance of the PC and allowed me to install games that the PC did not meet the requirements for ! My PC didn not have an available AGP slot however yours might . Check out your motherboard spec's for an AGP slot and it you have one I recomend you use that instead of the basic PCI slot . Newer PC's come with PCI-Express which is differant then the standard PCI interface !
Best Wishes , Nick
