Specs: Windows XP SP3, SL6RZ / 512Mbs RAM
Good morning from Philadelphia PA. I want to Upgrade my Dell OptiPlex gx260 that has a Pentium 4 with a CPUID of SL6RZ running at 2.4 Ghz w/ 533 FBS and a 512 Mbs Cache with a P4 that came outta a Dell gx270 that is ID'ed s a SL7E3 Prescott and runs 2.8 Ghz w/ 800 bus speed and a 1G cache. I want to try taking advantage of Hyperthreding but the chip seems totally incompatible when interfaced into the gx260. No diags lites in the back show color and the front power button shows an amber color. I would've assumed this to be an automatic. Are P4's that specific? Apparently so! My name's John nd I can be mailed at at your convenience. Thanx very much for your valued input and,by ll means, hve a very nice day!
