Specs: windows xp prof 32bit, intel core i7 920
i'm assembling a new dwsktop for me. purpose descent gaming & also learning 3ds max.
processor: intel core i7 920, mobo: msi x58pro, ram 2x2 gb ddr3 corsair ram, seagate 1 TB hard disk, graphics card not sure either palit gtx 260 896 MB or palit radeon 4870 512MB or powercolor radeon 4890 1GB(it's price is unexpectedly low in comparison with others). OS : winxp prof 32 bit

i have 2 questions

1. is 600 watt power supply is sufficient for them? i already have one. i can save money.

2. which graphics card will be the best? i can not go above gtx 260 because price difference is significant, whereas i am getting palit radeon 4870 almost same as gtx 260 and powercolor 4890 card with a little bit high price. otherbrands 4890 is quite costly than powercolor. on which should i invest?

i need your valuable suggestions. can not decide alone. many many thanks to you all.

this is not an xp question but a hardware one. Consider posting in the hardware forum.

As stated, this is a hardware question, not an XP question. And it can't be answered with any certainty unless you post the make/model of the power supply or at least the amperage specs for the +3.3v, +5v & +12v rails. Just stating it's 600W doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot.
