I get this when I try to access my HP scanner.
What should I do?
If everything is working as it should and you don't want this error report, go to:
IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing section.
Untick both the "Disable script debugging" entries. Please come back and let us know how you got on.
I under stated the issue. The error comes up and asks "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" Whether I say yes or no, nothing happens and the icons from the HP Scanner do not appear. I have reloaded the drivers, but to no avail.
The real issue is that I cannot activate the scanner which is normally done through "HP Director"
The message by URL is:
file:///C:/Program%20files/Hewlitt-Packard/Digitial%20Imaging/bbfe/director/director2.htm
So presumably disabling script debugging doesn't help. Re:
file:///C:/Program%20files/Hewlitt-Packard/Digitial%20Imaging/bbfe/director/director2.htmThat little lot is HTML, which is pointing to an offline save, so presumably it requires "director2.htm" in the following path:
"C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bbfe\director"
I would check to see if the file is present at that location because Director is usually fired up with an htm file.Notes (apologies if you already know all this):
file:/// denotes that it is pointing to an offline saved URL.
%20 just means a space.
I assumed "Hewlitt" was just a typo for "Hewlett" (if not it could matter).Otherwise I'm out of ideas - I only chimed in because I thought you just wanted to get shot of the error message.
Please come back and let us know how you got on.
