So my laptop speakers no longer work. I know its not muted or anything and headphones till work fine. My hunch is that I accidentally had my computer not turn them on or something because I had been starting up slowly so I messed around in msconfig and ended a lot of processes.

Other than the speakers my computer has been running much better since i ended to processes at start-up. The problem is that I don't which process the speakers might be associated with and I don't want to reenable them all or go through them by trail by error.

However the msconfig stuff might not be the cause of the problem. I don't use the speakers on my laptop very much so I didn't discover the problem until a good bit after I did the msconfig. It just seems like the most likely suspect to me.

there is a entry in msconfig for audio. I can't remember exactly how it is worded, but I do remember it contains the word audio. Go back in Msconfig and recheck the entry.
