Instant Shere Device Problem

June 19, 2009 at 04:01:23
Specs: Windows XP
I had to reformat my computer & reinstalled the HP printer. Now I often get a box saying "Instant Share Devices especially when restarting computer. Now I get a box come up saying "Instant Share Devices. The feature you are trying to use on on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Inster the 'Instant Share Devices' disk and click ok." There is a drop down box titled "Use source: and all that is in it is "1" with option to browse.
It won't cancel out and can't close it. Keeps popping back up. I have to keep clicking on cancel repeatedly to close it. I know Instant Share Devices refers to HP Instant Share (Naming Printers). I did not abort the installation process. What can I do to get rid of it? Thanks in anticipation of any answers. I have this stuck on my reformatted "Mercury" computer and when I transferred some files to my laptop it is now doing the same on that. Would appreciate any answers to

... found this:

... If you have HP instant share installed, just put in the disc and let Windows Installer finish its business. Sometimes even though the installation is complete, Installer has some file sorting to do. If HP instant share is not installed, Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility on it. Download and install the Utility, and run it. Find HP Instantshare on the list, left click once to highlight, and click "Remove." The Utility will get rid of the pop-up even if the HP application IS installed, but you will have to re-install it to the same directory to get it to work again.
