Solved installing backup hard drive in second computer

Specs: Windows XP
I cloned my large hard drive. Now I want to use it in a different PC. Is it possible and what do I have to do to make it bootable? Cloned hard drive has windows xp operating system.

Not possible for numerous reasons.

Unless the hardware in the second PC is identical to the the first then the cloned CD will not boot correctly. It will be excepting to see hardware from the first computer.

You might just be able to get it ti boot by doing a repair install you would still need to install drivers for the new PC. It could be a long and torturous process,

The you may run into activation problems because normally you can only run one copy of Windows XP on a single computer.

Thanks StuartS. I had a hunch such was the case. Five years since last messed with PCs and now I'm 79, with faded memories.
