Install XP without cdrom

Specs: xp , intel core duo 1.80/ 2 Go
Hi!
I have an old cpu with no cd rom and i want to install
xp on it (technicaly it support it) What i did (even
knowing that i had few possibilities of succes) was
take the HD and place it into another cpu P IV with cd
rom and install xp there, but when i place it back to
PIII it didnt reconize it, it stay black. I have another
P III similar that is working fine. Is there any trick i
can do to install it?

No shortage of confusion there.

The short answer is:

Put the HD in another box and copy the CD i386 directory to it.

Then put it back in the box you want to run it on and run the install.

C:\i386\winnt

If the HD is E: and the CD is R:

xcopy r:\i386 e:\i386\/s/r/h/v
