Hi all,

I finally got fed up with all of the garbage on my computer, and decided to reload Windows. In preparation of this I backed up my system drive with Ghost, in order to preserve items which I might need later. The problem is that some of my folders were encrypted with EFS. Unfortunately I did not export the PFX file before reloading everything. I was able to recover some files with Elcomsoft's EFS Data Recovery, however it is not able to scan a drive image mounted with the Ghost recovery point browser.

I was able to recover the Windows directory, and My Documents folder. Is there any way I can import the SAM file credentials from the old installation into the new one? Would doing so allow me to decrypt or move files previously encrypted with the old installation?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Put the image to a virtual machine would be easier.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
