IE8 non add browser pop up

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP MCE SP3, 1.794 GHz / 1982 MB

Can somebody tell me how to set IE8 to not open a new browser when I click on a link on a site?

It is not a add, just a link to another site, I am hoping that a new browser can be avoided and that it will open automatically in a new tab.

Is this possible?

Get rid of IE8 & go back to IE7.

I am like IE8 too much to go back to IE7.

I actually never really used it, I went from IE6 to IE8.

I can't give IE8 up cause even though it is flawed, I enjoy the tabbed browsing too much to give it up. And although I am aware that there are other browsers out there that might have less problems, I am too afraid to stop and learn a new progra interface at this time.

Thanks tho

IE7 is very much like IE8 except that it's faster because it's not as bloated. Try can always go back to IE8. A lot of people that try IE8 end up going back to IE7.

BTW, instead of clicking on a link, right click & select "Open in New Tab"
