IE On desktop

February 26, 2010 at 02:22:17
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional sp3, 1.995 GHz / 3032 MB
hello I have XP Professional SP3 on my dell inspiron 1545. I had to run the recovery and when it booted back up ie is not on the desktop. How can I get it on the desktop other than makeing a shortcut? I do not want to do the shortcut because I like to right click and clear history without opening up the browser.

Thanks

Chris, Which version of Internet Explorer are you using? In the meantime check out the link below especially under "Method 2: Add the special Internet Explorer icon to your desktop"

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945402

Edited to add: I restored my IE icon with all of the tabs to my Desktop by using Tweak UI. You can download it at the link below.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...

After you download and install it you'll find it in Start>Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI.

Open it, click on Desktop (left side) then checkmark Internet Explorer, click Apply/OK.

I do not see the link to download tweak UI.

Just because the OP does not come back in 3 or 4 days to reply, does not mean he will not come back and reply.

It's on the right next to Tweak UI (TweakUI.exe).

What's the time?
