Specs: Windows XP Pro, P4 3.2 HT 2 GB Ram.
I was on msn homepage one day. I saw a link don't be Scroogled at the top. I just kinda laughed. I should not have clicked the link but I did. It took me to :// . (PLEASE DON'T CLICK THE LINK). Anyway I am not even sure that is what caused my problem. But somehow my homepage keeps getting changed to msn. I change it to google because if I want to see the news I will either watch the local news or watch Fox News. Anyway why would my page keep changing to msn? looks like they are the one doing the scroogleing.

Please do not suggest I use Firefox or any other browser. That is not a fix.

I'm not going to suggest you use Firefox but sometimes temporarily installing it can prove whether your issue is with IE or something more general.

For starters I would do two things:

First install then run ADWCleaner from here:
This will remove any hidden toolbars or their remnants. "Search" will tell you what it has found, "Delete" will remove all offenders.

Secondly install and run MalwareBytes freebie from here:
This will find and fix malware that AV's sometimes miss. It will also give you an idea whether there is anything of consequence lurking.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I have ran ADW cleaner. Also ran Hitman Pro. Both found some things and I deleted them. And I do have Firefox and Chrome and it only happens with IE.
I have also ran male ware bytes. I will do it again. It has been a few days.

Have you tried running IE with no addons to see if the problem remains?

If the issue remains you could then try IE Reset:
IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button.

If none of this works try the procedure given at #2 in this post:
This procedure has worked in the past for redirects but it is important to keep to the exact order (which includes running MWB yet again). Rkill should be kept running until the procedure has finished.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
