IBM ThinkPad R51 Laptop failed to boot

Specs: Windows XP
My IBM ThinkPad R51 Laptop won't boot up

This is what it is displaying on the when turned on after sowing IBM LOGO.

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting intel boot agent.
Operating System not found.

Please i need help

Sounds like a problem with the hard drive - either its died or at least its boot sector has become corrupted. If you go into the bios settings, does the hard drive appear there? If it does, then what I would do is boot into recovery console. At the prompt type chkdsk c: /p

when complete (if it completes) - should find errors next type

fixmbr

then

fixboot

(type Y to any prompts).

Then type exit (to reboot machine). Hopefully now will boot into xp. Otherwise post back with more details please.

hi i have the same prb ...but it does not show C drive in bios set up ...
wat shud i do?????/
