DSL or ADSL is a dedicated system for using the phone lines to connect through your ISP (phone company). A special DSL modem is needed which you can buy from local computer store or rent from the phone company. This modem can use either a USB connection or a LAN connection to your computer....depending on what you have available. There is nothing that can be done to upgrade a USB 1.1 to a USB 2.0 port.

In USB connection a designated modem port is not required any USB port will work...but it is best to not go through a hub for the internet connection!

If your computer does not have an available USB port you can use an adapter that connects to the parallel port and has a USB connection for the other end...

Another possibilty would be to install a PCI network card...that would give you an ethernet port to connect to. I *think* that's what you mean by "modem port".

Or you could install a USB 2.0 adapter card.
