I went BACK to XP/64x versus Vista, but Win7?

How does Windows 7/64x 'function' compared to my current WinXP Pro/64x with 6 gigs of ram? I'd either get it for Xmas, or wait until the 2nd Quarter when it'll be a cheaper upgrade/downgrade? I 'retrofitted' XP.2 home on my 1994 Apple Perforrna 640/Daystar Powercard/MacOS 8.6|586dx4/100mhz/XP.2 machine, and it was NOT fast, but it was entirely 'functional,' postponing my need to exit to the ''dark side,' by buying a new Dell in 2004!

I would not upgrade to Windows 7. I'd purchase a new computer with Windows 7 on it. You can run the upgrade adviser from MS if you wish.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Money doesn't grow on trees, so I can't put any VALUE in the suggestion to upgrade to just buy a new 'consumable' computer, when my current Dell/XPro 64x core 2 duo 'functions' fine for my needs, plus 64x will allow me to upgrade memory FAR past my current 6 gigs? I'm set in hardware for YEARS, but I'm trying to 'discern' whether to upgrade my software to Win7/64x in the spring!
