I tried to install SP3 half way through got Access Denied

Specs: Windows XP
Then the install stoped/removed itself. How do U clean up invalid application ID's that are invalid (does not exist)? Example: The default under "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.acc " is an invalid entry.

Download & install CCleaner-Slim. Run the Cleaner & the Registry scanner - remove everything they find, then reboot. Then download the entire 316MB SP3 file from Microsoft. Do NOT install SP3 using Windows Update. Once you've downloaded it, just double click to install. And you might want to copy it to a CD in case you ever need it in the future.
