Specs: Windows XP
How to send a fax with XP and a dsl modem? I have installed the fax ability for XP but when I try to use it the dsl modem is not recognized for that. I have a Westell model 7500 and XP Pro.

Thank you in advance for any help provided.

You cannot send a fax using a DSL modem, faxes require analogue modems (the old dial-up sort that made the beeping noises). You have two alternatives. Analogue modems are still available and you can install one just for faxing if you need to send them regularly, or for just occasional faxes there are websites that will do the job for you, usually for free if you put up with advertising added to your fax, or for a nominal charge, just do a Google for 'fax over internet'.
