i killdisked HP laptop HDD cant install XP

Specs: Windows 7
i killdisked my entire hard drive i had vista on tried to install xp and would not work could not recognise harddrive now computer does not work at all i have no setting in bios to change computer is pavilion dv2000

Press the Pause button during boot so you can read the writing on the screen. Down the bottom is the info of how to get into setup / bios. Press the space bar to move on.

On HP it looks like ESC will be the key.

Once in the bios, make sure it is set to boot from CD first & save any change.

Put your XP CD in the drive & reboot.

Press any key, when you see the message & the XP install will begin.

The Press any key message does appear again during the install, but you don't touch it.

If you have a SATA HDD, it won't be recognized by the XP installer unless you do the prep work. Have a look at this:
