November 24, 2010 at 22:25:30
Specs: WINDOWS XP
I have two left over files from an avi movie I had. These files are 0 bytes but when I try to delete
them it says windows cant read the file source.I know its nothing running as I deleted every other file but these two, and nothing else is running. I tried renaming but it wont let me, I tried using an
app called move on boot, but that failed as well. How the heck do I get these out? I also ran my
av and that showed no viruses.....any ideas?

Hi Diamondill,
I found out that by going to that folder you want to get rid of, you need to:
Click on "Tools."
"Folder Options."
A menu pops up.
Click on "View."
Around the middle of that screen there is a folder icon=Hidden files and folders:
It has 2 options. Do not show hidden files and folders and the one you want.
Show hidden files and folders.
Click "Apply," and close it out. Then delete the folder.

Hope it works for you,
Phanay

Sorry Diamondill,
Forgot to tell you to delete the files after they are "UNHIDDEN."
Then delete the folder.

Download and install unlocker, then right-click the file and choose "Unlocker". Even if no locking handle is found, you can chose the action to "Delete".
