Solved I have no access to programs on my laptap. How may I correct

Specs: Windows XP
Last night while experiencing problems with Internet Explorer I uninstalled Zip7 and since the I have been unable to access programs or the internet. All icons show but when I click on them there is no action.

That's an odd one. My guess it was caused more by whatever was plaguing IE and not the uninstall of zip7.

Run a virus/malware scan, if possible. If that's not enough try a system restore. You might have to do that from safe mode if you can't get those things to run in normal mode.

To solve the problem it was necessary to backup the files and reload all programs. And yes, I had what I thought was an excellent Virus Protection Program which was purchased just days before everything fell apart. Needless to say, I cancelled that Virus Program. It seems the virus was attached to a bogus Adobe Flash Update.

For the sake of curiosity, which anti-virus protection was it that you recently installed?

In addition to real-time protection (often called "anti-virus" or "internet security" software), you should have at least one on-demand program which only scans when you tell it to. I recommend Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.
