I just did a fresh reinstall of Windows XP x64. I have a total of 4gb of ram but only 3.25gb is shown in the system properties. Why? How can i fix this? Thanks
Onboard graphics with shared memory?
Check the old posting by Scotteq here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/2...
That's fairly old information. I think it originated on an Asus page that's no longer there
Anyway it says you not only need XP x64 but a motherboard with a "memory controller which supports memory swap functionality"
If your motherboard has that capability then the problem is elsewhere. If not you need to drop the ram to 3 gig or less. That might explain why your system is booting slow (your previous thread).
